One of the difficulties with trying to keep a blog up to date is logistical. Ideas that would be good to develop and prepare for the blog typically arise at times when a computer is not nearby, and often at times when it's unsafe to even take the time to write down key words about the thought. Then, by the time a suitable keyboard is available, the idea is gone.

Hence the mobile-friendly micro blogging tools, which work great in theory but end up burying your thoughts in a "stream" or "feed" that's hard to look back on with any sense of permanence. At that point I'd rather just say it to myself and hope I remember it.
