Here We Go

I've been told by wise people, and observed, that many business cycles have about a 15 year half life.  Private offices inspire work quality, then cubicles and bullpens create efficiency and teamwork, then privacy and value of contemplation work best in offices.  Seems we're at the cubical pinnacle now, and will see if the pendulum swings.  Saw that Philip Morris may merge with Altria.  Makes me wonder if the consultants preaching divestment are now touting stability of earnings through integration.  Could mergers of upstream and downstream energy companies be soon to follow?  Perhaps Marathon, COP + P66?  Could pharmaceuticals buy back their own spin-offs?
